Year In Review - 2022
Author : Adrian Ma & Asher Uchiyama
Aloha! In case you haven’t guessed it - everyone on the Hiddenpalmtree content team has been.. preoccupied with their own business and activities outside of the brand & blog you follow.
We’ve been so busy and been very quiet about new updates here that we have found ourselves yet again, to the end of another year. 2022. Totally not intended from way back in January, but we have not exactly been at our usual pace and pushing out new and exciting content for you to look forward to.
Davis has passed one year of living in Canada and has gotten to cover two big events in his area of Nova Scotia - as we reported on in a feature this past Spring.
You got to see his coverage of Driven Halifax for one, as well as covering meets in his area and doing shoots with various cars in Canada when he has the chance, including some familiar faces that also made their way from Hong Kong to the Great White North.
But Asher has been all over the place - literally. Not only did he get to cover some major car events in the East Coast - including one on his bucket list, 7’s Day, but Asher has also been able to fly back to Hawaii for Hot Import Nights, as well as his homeland of Japan!
As for Adrian? Well, He continued the feature series I intended to carry on from the end of 2021 ‘Never Stop Creating’, with showcasing artist Abi aka ‘holeecrab’ in the spotlight, as well as Chris Hung - aka creator of animated automotive project ‘TheDRIVER’, and hoping to bring it back in 2023!
We could best sum up the journey we have gone through this year: a series of unexpected, uncertainty, but new opportunities discovered along the way.
While we have not been as active as our usual levels for 2022, We just wanted to say: thank you again to our supporters and followers for continuing to like, share, and supporting our content in every way possible. It is great to see you all continuing to support us and the brand, even when we have not been keeping active on our part - it really does mean a lot, whilst we are busy.
As the world starts to resume activities and everything pre-pandemic, especially as international travel picks up again here in Hong Kong without all the limitations, we can start looking forward to finally looking into covering events abroad - hopefully with yours truly getting to dust off their passport after 2 years!
Asher is also planning on coming out with multiple coverages in 2023, currently cooking it up behind the scene.
Once again, thank you for continuing to support each and every person behind Hiddenpalmtree despite the silence on our part. Here’s to 2023, we can get back on our feet and wrap up what we started - and eventually, hit some of the major goals and ideas that are awaiting for us.
